The "I'm Going to Use You for Material Look"

Living in new yawk, there are tons of wannabe actors, singers, comics and the like performing tasks that they don't really want to do.

So occasionally, I'll be going out to get lunch and the guy behind the counter will be an actor/comic serving me but really mentally saving me for "material."

For example, if I ask for lettuce and tomato on my tuna sandwich, he just won't put it on the sandwich. He'll inquire if it is placed correctly. This way he can say in his act, "this guy comes into my shop and is so anal that he critiqued how I placed the lettuce and tomato on his sandwich."

You can tell "the look" by people who go the extra mile for you, not out of the love of their job but to get a reaction from you for future benefit in their act.

To be perfectly honest, it's a lot like how I find stuff to blog about.
